It byes the DVD copy encryption or protection set on the DVD to prevent illegal cloning or copying. DVD copy protection or encrypting also prevent the DVD content from being backed up to the hard drive.
Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (in the United States) making personal copies of DVDs are covered under the Fair Use doctrine. You should be able to copy and decrypt your own DVDs. It is reasonable that personal DVDs should be allowed to be backed up.

The drawback to this DVD Decrypter is that it does not include documentation and the Help Menu links do not work either. Also, it doesn't work on all DVDs.
It does, however, have a step-by-step tutorial located on the developer's web site. It doesn't drain all of your U power as it operates. And, it doesn't freeze up your computer while it operators like a lot of other DVD cloners do.
DVD Decrypter is deprecated software for MS Windows. It can create a back up of a disk image of the DVD Video Structure of the DVD. While it was still ed software, it could have been used to make copies of DVDs protected by the Content Scrambling System.

Though it does not allow the to create a digital file from the DVD, it does allow the to easily create a ROM copy of the DVD which is fully functional and viewable. this if you are looking to copy any of your DVD's and you won't regret it.

Not only does it have the decrypting functionality that you'd of course expect, but it also enables you to copy any of your favorite DVDs straight over to HD. I also really like that I'm able to use DVD Decrypter to isolate tracks of audio and video.
